Downloadable Bank!

Connie and Gary Young have provided us with a wonderful way to keep the Children's and Youth project fresh in our minds.  This is a make-it-yourself bank for your children's ministry to use however you can fit it in.  It will be a great reminder for our children to raise money for our projects.  It can be used by groups or individuals, young and old alike.

GREETINGS FROM SYLVIA:

Greeting, Ladies!
I am excited and at the same time a little scared at my new endeavor.  My first memory of Friends Women was sitting and listening as a child with ladies at University Friends.  In Junior High we had a girls’ mission group named after Elizabeth Fry and I served as president of that group.  Growing up my brother, Mike, and I were privileged to visit with missionaries on furlough who stayed in our home.  We also accompanied Mom and Dad to the airport to see our missionaries off after furloughs were over.  We still have a couple of boxes of letters from the different fields in Africa when Mom was the corresponding secretary for the Yearly Meeting.

Our 2008 theme for the Youth is TAKING GOD’S LOVE TO THE WORLD, and our goal will be to raise $10,000.  Our projects will include the Kibimba Hospital, the Hope International School, Aguascalientes, and Muslim Ministries.  Our curriculum focus will be on our mission field in Burundi.  I am just beginning to learn about my job, so please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

Best wishes for a wonderful new year.

Sylvia Harvey
